Inspireret af mcls svar om:unikt indeks og lad databasen give en fejl, besluttede jeg at benchmarke betingede indsættelser vs. try/catch .
Resultaterne ser ud til at understøtte den betingede indsættelse over try/catch, men YMMV. Det er et meget simpelt scenarie (én kolonne, lille tabel osv.), udført på én maskine osv.
Her er resultaterne (SQL Server 2008, build 10.0.1600.2):
duplicates (short table)
try/catch: 14440 milliseconds / 100000 inserts
conditional insert: 2983 milliseconds / 100000 inserts
except: 2966 milliseconds / 100000 inserts
merge: 2983 milliseconds / 100000 inserts

try/catch: 3920 milliseconds / 100000 inserts
conditional insert: 3860 milliseconds / 100000 inserts
except: 3873 milliseconds / 100000 inserts

Bemærk, at selv på unikke indsatser er der lidt mere overhead at prøve/fange end et betinget skær. Jeg spekulerer på, om dette varierer efter version, CPU, antal kerner osv.

betingede indsættelser, bare WHERE
. Jeg antager IF
sort ville vise mere overhead, da a) ville du have to udsagn, og b) du skulle pakke de to udsagn ind i en transaktion og indstille isolationsniveauet til serialiserbart (!). Hvis nogen ønsker for at teste dette, skal du ændre temp-tabellen til en almindelig brugertabel (serialiserbar gælder ikke for lokale temp-tabeller).
