Det lykkedes mig at løse mit problem, men jeg brugte ikke Laravel ORM. Jeg ved ikke rigtig, hvorfor det ikke fungerede med laravel, men fungerede med php mysqli-funktioner. Jeg tror, problemet er, at MySQL-variablerne ikke bliver initialiseret, når jeg bruger ORM-metoderne.
Jeg har lige brugt de php-indbyggede mysql-metoder og voilà alt er godt.
