Den typiske årsag til, at en app, der bruger SQLite, og som kopierer en allerede eksisterende database, pludselig ikke virker for API 28, er at komme uden om problemet med databasen mappe, der ikke eksisterer (kopien ville mislykkes, hvis mappen ikke eksisterede) er at oprette en tom database og derefter overskrive databasen.
Men som standard, fra API 28, bruger SDK'et WAL (Write-ahead-logning) og at oprettelse af den tomme database, der skal overskrives, resulterer i, at -shm- og -wal-filerne oprettes. Det er eksistensen af disse filer, der resulterer i, at databasen er tom efter kopieringen.
- Jeg tror, at det skyldes, at når først den kopierede database er åbnet, opdages en fejl, og SDK's metoder skaber en tom brugbar database (dette er formodninger og har faktisk ikke vist sig at være det).
Hurtig løsning
Den hurtige, men ikke anbefalede løsning, er at tilsidesætte onConfigure metode i klassen, der underklasser SQLiteOpenHelper til at bruge disableWriteAheadLogging metode, så databasen åbnes i journaltilstand.

Anbefalet rettelse
Den anbefalede metode, for at drage fordel af WAL's fordele, er at tjekke for eksistensen af databasebiblioteket og oprette biblioteket, hvis det ikke eksisterer i stedet for at oprette en database, der skal overskrives (og derfor - shm- og -wal-filen eksisterer ikke, når databasen kopieres )
